    ... grandparents.

Le Palue provides a life for only a few people and reminds me of nothing. Seldom a car drives by or a plane flies overhead in the distance. This place is tranquil, inviting, and completely at peace. As the sun sets behind Marmolada, queen of the Dolomites, we are left with another mark of Italy's never-ending splendor. It is very easy to understand how people can spend their lives in such a way.

Then we had yet another excellent pizza followed by another gelati from the same gelati place as it was that ...

... some magnificent roads. James Bond and lots of other films had been made in the area and you could see why. Steep, long, curvy roads took us a windy way several hundred metres down the mountain. The fog on the mountain settled over everything like a blanket, keeping the sound in, so the only music to our ears was the constant squealing of our brakes which had not coped very well with the journey. We found a small town to ...

Day 17 - Cortina D'Amprezzo to Pieve Di Cadore 33km Today started with assisting some American tourists get their Mercedes van out of the wet, steep car park at the hotel. It had been raining most of the night and would rain for the rest of the day so we donned our wet gear, although we were pretty much drenched within the first 5km. We rode down a beautiful valley shrouded in fog, but unfortunately ...
