The final push!!!

... hoped we were so long as poor pooper could keep going.
We counted down as each mile passed, and even as we finally arrived in Turin the little pooper was still pulling like a train (all be it a Hornby one).
All we had to do now was negotiate a few more sets if traffic lights and some roundabout's and we would be at our hotel and at the finishing line.
Sitting at the traffic lights Kev tossed and toyed with the local boy racers gunning the engine and slipping ...

Day three in the Roadrunner meep meep!!

... br>we were busy minding our own business when we saw a Giant Coq, looming menicingly above us!
After ignoring Doris yet again, ready to take on the Mountain for the first time, Rich at the helm with gay abondon, ignoring the acrid smell of burning rubber and hot brakes, Kev was strangely quiet in the back. as we edged our way towards Chamoinix for the promised night in a hotel room with its own bathroom!

North to South with much needed sleep

... br>
In this main square was set up, a basketball court sized, how do I say this. Simply put a giant box of sand. Which apparently was built to house some amatuer championships for a sand soccer league. Needing to kill dubious amounts of time (it was 10 a.m. and we couldn't check into the hostel until 4 p.m. so we had lots and lots of time). Due to my decreasing existence in reality, due to the lack of sleep and slight hangover I had to experience while awake ...

Ivrea

... Canadian guy and a French girl. We got a short ride together to the pay station and then another good ride to the Marseille freeway exit. I kept going as they were going to Marseille, I was going to Milan. I went with the same guy to the Nice freeway exit, we stopped at a gas station and he bought me a coffee. Nice guy. I got another ride with a French guy to the toll station, and then got another ride with a Slovakian truck driver into Italy ...

An Analysis of Italian Culture

After having spent only a week in Italy, a vast country of 30 million people, each with their own individual habits and tendencies, I can hardly claim to be a reliable source of cultural explorative studies. However, I have been observing subtle tendency differences.

I find most Italians to be gracious to me as a foreigner. They seem happy to use whatever knowledge of the English language they have to assist me. They do not seem to be upset at my ...

A Day In Asti

... castle. Ricca's ground mom was very nice to us. We had coffee and chocolate. We looked at pictures and had a small tour of the caste. It's quite impressive. The rooms are very well-decorated. About 6pm we went to San Secondo to shop. Ricca lost his cell phone and left us. Mom bought a bag in Benetton. They wanted to use the toilet ...

Torino again

... Highlight yellow... I don't think it
matches with the city. We visited the top of the Mole but the view was
hazy because of the weather. Turin is a gridded city but I didn't pay
attention to that up there. We went inside a church named San Lorenzo and
I thought that's the cutest church I saw in Italy. It isn't described in
the tour book, and ...

Winter Olympics Day 3

... if I stand in line, then I won't get to my event in the 2 hours they say to arrive early. I decided to chance it anyways though and stood in line until after 2pm, when they opened the office. I finally got my free ticket for the evening and made it to the bus stop to go to the Oval Lingotto by 3pm. I got to the Oval jst around 3:30 and it took all of about 5 minutes to pass through security and into the building. So much for "it is advised that you arrive at your ...
