... tourists like me, enjoying my tree. But enjoying me in this tree. I do not stare but continue reading my book as my picture is stolen from me.
A Little boy walks down the stone path, following him, like a puppy is a yellow and green dump truck, which is attached to him at the wrist
I see the 'senoirs club' all the white head bobbing together, on foot, or on bicycles shuffling along to converge around the ...
Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy benitalutzShort train ride from Florence after a hair raising trip trying to return the rental car in confusing, congested and traffic restrictied Florence (don't rent a car downtown go to the airport). Bologna is an university town (even Johns Hopkin has a campus). Very historical town with a great plaza area like most towns and a great antique market.
Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy pathenger... journey. We promptly got lost, so we caught a train for a couple of stops to a one horse town with only one road north so we knew we wouldn't get lost. Okay, no problem. But little did we know that there are no back roads in Bologna. No bikepaths. No sidewalks. No shoulders.

The way they get around in Italy is long two lane highways punctuated by roundabouts, with speed limits of 70 ...
Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy jaeleli... Persistence and perseverance always pay off....I had to call three times, but I got it done in the end and that is what counts.

Then, the agent tells me he shows our London to Newark flight as canceled, so I next spend about 1 hour with Delta and Continental who see the flights and confirm for me...

Anyway, we go to the grocer to buy snacks for the planes since they give you nothing anymore. Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy cainteam... half time up 14-6 (the extra point was blocked). The mood in the locker room was very somber, no one felt very good. We came out and got the ball back after another surprise onside kick. The second half was back and fourth for a quarter before our offense was just too much for them. Reggie scored on a crazy play where the Doves' American safety chopped him down in the open field, but he landed on the defender, popped up and raced for a 70-yard ...

Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy rave09... historic registry in the U.S. We spent an hour sipping coffee and relaxing in the grass as an impromptu siesta before heading off to our next appointment. We threatened to take up residence there during next year's trip. After our second factory tour, in which we saw the workings of a full-scale porcelain tile plant, we went to dinner with Lorella and Paolo in a small restaurant owned by their friends. The food ...
Bologna, Italy linds_and_ryan... to have a nature room in my house. It would be nice and warm, even in the winter. (Not like California has seasons.) And the statue is a nice addition to the room. Ok, enough about the Cardinal and everything he had. We then went back down the funny stairs, past the stone furniture, and across the piazza to the Duomo. No pictures were allowed and I'm sorry I can't adequately describe it, but it's absolutely gorgeous inside. Along both sides of it ...
Bologna, Italy fminonne... 20,000 was very impressive and Hoges and I explored it for quite some time. Though it now functions as Verona’s opera house, both of us independently came to the same conclusion that it could also be put to a slightly different, less Italian, use: Its mini-Melbourne Cricket Ground proportions were absolutely perfect for a game of backyard/park cricket with a large group of friends or extended family.

As it got dark we were walking against the ...
Maranello, Emilia-Romagna, Italy troywilkinsonJune 10, 2002

Back on the bus! This time to Italy!! We went to Pisa (and had pizza for lunch!) We saw the tower, of course, and the church. Got to shop in the souvenir shops and sit for awhile in the sun. Very peaceful day. I can tell I'm getting tired, because the travel journal entries are shorter and shorter!

We were in ...
