Getting off the 3 hour train in Alicanti from Madrid I'm looking forward to checking in and having some lunch. Not to be though....turns out that hotel I booked and paid the princely sum of 72 euro for 4 nights B&B is not here at all, instead it's 70KM further south and 2 more train trips.

... seaside city, a relaxed city that despite feeling small has a lot to do. We basically spent the whole time at the seaside, eating tapas and various fish/rice dishes (like arroz a banda) and drinking wine.

The hotel we stayed in came complete with all the mod cons you'd expect from a new hotel that specialized in the corporate crowd. Slightly snooty staff, over-priced drinks, hallways so dark you can't see your nose and a phone requiring an operating manual to call reception. Gotta love a modern hotel.
