We stayed at this resort through Fraser Discovery tours.

It was excellent all round. The buffet meals were delicious and the room was immaculate.

          What a lovely place

Woke early this morning ready for Fraser. We were picked up at 7.30 in a vehicle that was the "German Beast", a 40 seater coach that would practically drive over anything. A unique machine built by the Germans and perfect for the terrain at Fraser. We had a classic Aussie bus driver called Dan who was great entertainment as not only was he funny …

A travel blog entry by redhalo on Jul 22, 2015

20:40 Started the day with a cooked breakfast (mm!) before driving to the Maheno shipwreck. It was a pretty old boat, having been used in both world wars and as it was a little misty looked very spooky and ghostly! Next we drove to the coloured sands. I could only spot 3 different colours but apparently there are 70 different recognised shades. …

17:20 Decided not to go to the sand blow as the balcony door rattled all night so I didn't get that much sleep. Got on the 4WD bus outside the backpackers and then caught the ferry across to Fraser Island. Saw a couple of dolphins as we were going across but only briefly. Immediately drove off the ferry and onto the sand which was pretty cool. …
