We stayed at this resort through Fraser Discovery tours.

It was excellent all round. The buffet meals were delicious and the room was immaculate.

    What a lovely place

    Fraser Island day 2

A travel blog entry by redhalo on Jul 22, 2015

20:40 Started the day with a cooked breakfast (mm!) before driving to the Maheno shipwreck. It was a pretty old boat, having been used in both world wars and as it was a little misty looked very spooky and ghostly! Next we drove to the coloured sands. I could only spot 3 different colours but apparently there are 70 different recognised shades. …

17:20 Decided not to go to the sand blow as the balcony door rattled all night so I didn't get that much sleep. Got on the 4WD bus outside the backpackers and then caught the ferry across to Fraser Island. Saw a couple of dolphins as we were going across but only briefly. Immediately drove off the ferry and onto the sand which was pretty cool. …

With hazy eyes the following morning we weren't up and out quickly but that was in line with the day's plans. The final destination was Brisbane, but between Nimbin & there was plenty of opportunities to stop off and take in more of Australia. Having heard mixed reviews we headed for Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast - which would …

    Fraser Island (09/10 - 10/10)

Hours on bumpy tracks, in excessive heat with a bunch of strangers rushing from one place to another...sounds like it would be horrible right? Wrong! Welcome to Fraser Island - the worlds largest sand island and a truly beautiful place.

An early start to get our transfer to our ferry to our tour bus …

We are on the road again, free to go where we wish... Part of the liberating feeling that travelling brings is from the actual travelling itself as well as being able to see the world. The feeling of going into the unknown... Well, at least to us its unknown. We left Surfers Paradise in the rain and headed north where we hoped …
