Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic dancejill... 5.30am. Not having had much sleep on the 11 hour flight it was a bit of a struggle to function like a normal human! But Munich was fantastic, a great combination of old and modern...everyone gets around on their bikes around the city which is pretty cool. Jarrad has spent a fair bit of time in Munich so was great to be there with someone who knew all the places to go. Felt obliged to induldge as the locals do so we went to a great gourmet market and had beer ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic sharmandjarrad... br>
Went back to the centre of town to the Christ Church to climb up the bell tower - there are 5 bells up there, some of the biggest in Germany, and in the evening you can hear them pealing (so you can't go up there around that time!!).

While we were up there, we heard a bit of a loud crash coming from the building site in front of the church (there "used" to be a building there, so they are reproducing it... despite the fact it wasn't ...

Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Saxony, Germany magicwoman82... then enjoyed a lunch of duck, dumplings and sweet and sour cabbage. I swear Greece and Czech Republic have the best food in the world. I am going to miss it. We will return tomorrow to Amsterdam to connect with our flight home. We are hoping to make the Anne Frank museum if the lines are not too long.
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic tdennissteel... tale town, but it was so windy we couldn't stay long. The only way up or down was on an old squeeky elevator since they were re-painting the stairs so we had to wait like a herd od sheep to squeeze into it. Yesterday took us to a REAL castle, 750 years old and just like a fairy tale surrounded by a river moat. It was complete with torture chambers and dungeons,( our favorite part and the best haunted house ever!) and a tower to keep the princesses safe-pics to ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic polloslibreWe went through Germany to see where Bryan used to live and to visit one of his favorite breweries. We had dinner at the Gasthaus - traditional schnitzel and spetzel. Great beer and wonderful hospitality. Bryan had to get a rack of beer to take back with us, of course.
Lengenfeld, Saxony, Germany pucketts... just walking by the stadium and heard all the excitement but I almost didn't go because I wanted to leave that night and it was getting late and also because someone warned me that foreigners aren't safe at soccer matches in the Czech Republic. I didn't have any incidents during the half hour I was there. It was a perfect night for soccer, . I wish I could describe the excitement in the air, it was priceless. The whole crowd was so into the game, and there was a group of "hooligans ...
