... pan and cook our first dinner this week, so not all bad.
in karlovy vary we buy the teeniest tiniest cup and try some water from every fountain. some taste like blood and we wonder if we have reached dracula country early. oh well, at least we will probably live a few extra years according to the, ah hem, medical advice.
... br>We leave and go to see the colonnades, these are fancy walkways with pillars that have little fountains where the thermal water comes out. People are walking along with fancy china cups. The handles are really spouts to drink the water from. They go to the water taps, fill their cups and stroll along drinking the water. The water is warm and at some stops hot water.
We bought a very tiny cup and tried the water. I ...
... 5.30am. Not having had much sleep on the 11 hour flight it was a bit of a struggle to function like a normal human! But Munich was fantastic, a great combination of old and modern...everyone gets around on their bikes around the city which is pretty cool. Jarrad has spent a fair bit of time in Munich so was great to be there with someone who knew all the places to go. Felt obliged to induldge as the locals do so we went to a great gourmet market and had beer ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic sharmandjarrad... then enjoyed a lunch of duck, dumplings and sweet and sour cabbage. I swear Greece and Czech Republic have the best food in the world. I am going to miss it. We will return tomorrow to Amsterdam to connect with our flight home. We are hoping to make the Anne Frank museum if the lines are not too long.
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic tdennissteel... which felt alot like standing on a block of ice for 2 1/2 hours and there being no TP in the bathroom, not out of TP, but no actually dispenser to indicate there had ever been TP offered at all. Therefore Celina had to use her 'extensive' Czech to beg for a napkin!! Lucky I love hockey as much as Mirek! One of the things I looked forward to the most here was the weekly flea market, as everyone promised it was the biggest and best-it was! Piles of clothes and ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic polloslibre... cool aunt). She lives in an apartment not far from the main promanade in K.V. Karlovy Vary is world renowned for its hot springs and health spas and that is the centre of it's tourist draw. It is also the town that the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is held that draws all the A-list celebs each year. Many of the restaurants attest to that fact by displaying photos of their famous visitors. K.V. is also famous for ...
Karlovy Vary, Bohemia, Czech Republic polloslibre... why I love going back so often. It was the most amount of food we have eaten so far and the parties weren't too far behind either. Denmark to Berlin where we stayed a few days and did the touristy sights. Neither of us realised what a cool city it was before we arrived. It is a place to go for sure!! From Berlin we took a train to the Czech Repbulic ...
Cheb, Bohemia, Czech Republic ryanislostAs we, well me and my boyfriend actually, would stay in this country for 5 days and that's way too much time just for Prague, we decided to look around for a bit. We thought Karlovy Vary and Kutna Hora deserved a visit. So, after discussing with our friends, we all headed for Karlovy Vary together and left Kutna Hora for another day. Karlovy Vary is a little over 2 hours by bus (low cost - great service) but looking back, I'm not sure it was all worth it. You see, it's one of ...
Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic perl... promenade to sightsee, people arm in arm, not what we see in NA too much. Most Russian tourists wear the latest fashions - boots, pants to the knee, jackets with fur hoods, bgs,all very chic. Needless to say, I am not of that ilk, but fortunately there are enough that wear jeans and goretex as well, to make me not stand out. In fact, people regularly ask me for directions in Russian or Czech so I do blend in. Iasked a hosteller in my Prague hostel ...
Karlovy vary, Czech Republic lecklund... After remaining in the water the rose becomes hard and it looks as if it is made of iron.
And get one of those small pots they sell in the souvenir shops and try taste the water!
The pots are designed in such way that it is as if you drink out of a straw.
I would definitely like to visit this place again and probably spend ...
