... France had a revolution. The level of indulgence was incredible. Still it was worth every bit of walking and waiting to be a part of such a testament to power, indulgence and cultural development. Ben summed it up when he said, "it was no wonder that Marie-Antoinette lost her head," building a model peasant village so she could play "dirty" was probably the last straw for the down trodden French peasants! Superb stuff ...

... anyway the detail in the gardens was phenomenal and seriously you could spend days in it. Would have easily been able to do another whole day there and the girls just loved it. The train trip there was again a little interesting as they have the main connecting lines closed. But we are now metro pros (at least yours truly is) and we got there and most importantly home okay. ... time reading a French wine bottle in a German accent (video attached). Met our tour group over dinner in the restaurant downstairs, we had snails!! Pretty average, they are meant to be better hot so will try more tomorrow. Everyone in the group has already found their wee groups so we had to work hard to infiltrate them being the late comers.
