... back to our campsite (at Dutch Charlie) to cook dinner wasn’t so bad. Our site overlooked the Cimmaron and Sneffels Mountain Ranges (part of the San Juans). They were snow-capped and glowed beautifully at sunset. At dusk the birds flew all around us. It was so nice to be a part of such tranquility. A series of trails allowed us to take the dogs on walks. ... out on the Engineer Pass jeep road. The road started out very rocky, and we had to climb over several large piles of rocks. This road also climbed very quickly. (Ouray is at an elevation of 7,792 feet, and the top of the pass is at 12,800 feet.)
