... as good as I remember in our last trip, we will have to bring some more of those home with us! We came back to the hotel for a siesta and headed out again after 9 to Dickens Pub to get a bite to eat and see a local jazz group play. We had hamburgers which were good and paid a $50 cover charge for the show. The music was excellent - 2 guitar players, a drummer and a vocalist. They played some local folk music and enjoyed it very much. One of the ...

... to the port in the meantime. The port was full of fishing ships, and several sea lions were there as well - when the fisherman come in they feed the sea lions so I don't blame them for hanging around. That restaurant was full, but the doorman recommended a different place a few blocks away. We walked there and got a table quickly. Cecilia and Joel ordered beer, ...

This has been a wind down day with general relaxing and exchanging addresses. At the 0745 wake up call it was already 25 degrees so the days are definitely getting warmer. It is now time to pack away the cold weather clothes and brace for high temperatures. One particular presentation today was really inspiring. It was an honour to listen to Laurie Dexter, the team historian, talk about the first group to walk/ski across the Arctic. ...

Heading south we spent a night in Mar del Plata, another large city on the coast. Nothing special about the town except it is the second largest beach town in the country and does indeed have a very wide beach that was crowded even as the sun was setting. It's surrounded by very flat, very fertile farmland. What strikes me most is how little we know about this country. Seems like people either live in huge cities or in very isolated, tiny villages.
