... by a process of elimination you decide who stays and who goes. I now own two pairs of pants, a tee and some odd socks (don't even think one of them is mine). Deep inside I know it wasn't the clothes making my pack heavy, but the 2 Euro bottle of wine, a collection of impractically large rocks from the top of Etna and some cow shaped salt and pepper shakers I found deep in the Catanian flee markets. Secretly I know this, but its all about priorities. xx

... an espresso and a torte in the piazza and basked in the sun for a good while. Up to this point I had done quiet a bit. I went to a castle (toured that for a solid hour +); went to at least 5 churches; 3 different street markets; went to all the near piazza's, peering into shops; and now I was enjoying the weather. It's only 11 am and I'm already worn.

That was my morning in Catania!

... the town. It was dark by this point but he assured me it was a safe area. I ended up walking to a piazza. It was beautiful at night. There is a large fountain in the middle and small shops and restaurants around it. On the farthest side is a palace of some sort. The rest of the way was smooth sailing. One thing about trains here is that they don't baby you and tell you every stop. You have to be extremely observant of where you are. Luckily, I had a map and at each stop I circled it. My hosts for my B&B had been texting me. They were so sweet, they came and picked me up. That took a load off!
