From Musee De L'Orangerie to rhythm and lights
... works and from there I went on to Musee D'Orsay. I had really been looking forward to this gallery as it contains works of my favourite eras and artists. When I arrived I remembered a friend telling me that all of the information is in French. I'm a scanner at the best of times but figured this was a gallery where I'd appreciate some assistance. I figured at the very least a map in English would help! Lucky timing, though, saw me with 4 minutes to spare ...
Lunch in Paris, Dinner in London
... we walked all the way from the Eiffel Tower to the Notre Dame and then waited in a short line to get into the cathedral. It is a lovely cathedral- cold stone, dark corners, hushed voices, and colorful light streaming in through the stained glass windows. We tried to imagine what it would have been like when the cathedral was first built and lit with candlelight. We walked the loop of the cathedral, stopping by a Joan of Arc memorial statue and a few other saint statues.

... by the challenge. I think the answer is that I am scared. I am wondering if this makes me a wimp or something because of the fact that I am afraid to be in a country that I do not speak the language. Hell I don't even know how to ask if they speak English. 5 semaines de vie parisienne!
... nous sommes sortis de Paris pendant quelques jours - Seine vers l'Est, et ensuite le tournant nord sur l'Oise où nous somme arrêtés à Cergy, ville nouvelle. De là, nous avons pu visiter Auvers-sur-Oise, où Van Gogh a vécu ses derniers jours à l'Auberge Raudoux et produit 80 tableaux en 70 jours, avant de s'enlever la vie. Très touchant de se trouver là et de voir les décors vus si souvent dans ses tableaux .
