... been to France over these past couple of months I am always amazed by what a beautiful country it is (and their elaborate and delicious pastries). The city was heavily decorated for Christmas and very cold but I wasn't as freezing once I bought an authentic french barrett. I started out by going in the church and decided that was the prettiest one I have ever seen. Even though it is not as big as the church in Ulm I loved the colorful stained glass with biblical pictures ...

... we made it to Hotel Masion Rouge the front desk says "reservations for one?" Wide eyed we were ready to sleep in the lobby. Marlin did his thing and the man says " sure, a room with 3 beds sir". Thank you Marlin! We have a nice room and poor Marlin had at twin bed that was about 6 inches off the floor and 6 inches too short. We all managed to get to sleep....well almost. ... seating area -4th floor is the best with a large red comfy looking couch. we are on floor 6, but i will take our less exciting seating area since we have a room with 2 bedroom areas. there are 3 tiny twin sized beds. poor marlin hangs his feet off the end, but i guess that is europe. we just got back from the free breakfast and ate our fill of cheese,salted meats, bread, and more cheese. i also ...

The afternoon was spent very happily being bussed into Alsace for a wine tasting visit to one of the local cellars. The scenery was lovely, and those colours still amaze. The wine tasting was interesting as the region considers it is a cool climate area so comparisons were in order! We enjoyed every wine we tasted - thank goodness it was too far to post back!

So...October one we had a wonderful warm day looking aroune Reinebach then taking the autobahn over to Koblenz where we then took the smaller road that followed the Rhein River.
