... time the person in front of you would step. Inch by inch we crept through the swarm, shaking on encouraging (pushing) each other. Once we reached the middle, the fears left, the cameras came out and the cameras started clicking. The view was MAGNIFICENT! We forgot all about the, what seemed to be, 2000 foot gorge beneath our feet and the howling winds. Finally we made it to the other end. Alice and Bob started back, clicking their ...

... feel down on the waterfront. People from all levels are sitting enjoying the late afternoon sun, a few drinks and each other's company. Some are in suits, some in shorts and thongs, ladies dressed to the nines, while others are in their happy pants and dreadlocks. ... take away the road works signs ( the town is having a new water supply put through its heart) this place could be off a news reel in 1945. It's almost a ghost town and un touched for decades. The Tour de France came through here in 2012 and looks to have taken everyone with it! It seems the residents that do still live here and the local Maire are trying very hard to embrace tourism to bring back some life into this sleepy hamlet. One of 6 in the region with around 600 ...

... who made the route, put in some climbs just to challenge us. Don't get me wrong they have done an amazing job, the signs are usually very well placed on turns etc, and usually easy to see. Sometimes we think their last 5 kms into our destinations feel like 10, but that might be just because we're tired. After having a hot shower and doing the mandatory washing we headed off to explore MONTBELIARD. Once again the centre of town is a mall, and the only vehicles allowed down ...
