Christmas Countdown
... no tim tams?
On Thursday was Nikolaus Tag which is a day where a man dressed as Santa Claus comes with his sack and golden book with the Christkind. He reads out each child's name and the naughty and nice things that they've done over the year and awards them with a present. There were a lot of people that came over for dinner and everyone got a small gift. Its a pity I didn't grow up in Germany, I could have ...
Extreme Randomness
... been trying to take a photo every day on the tram of the Edingen Water Tower. This tower marks the boundary of Edingen from Weblingen which is the outer village from Heidelberg. I never thought of a country having villages given that Adelaide is such a sprawling metropolis, but with fields separating the settlements there is a physical boundary at least. Anyway today I finally managed to get a good shot given the fast moving tram.
Enjoy!

Autumn Days

I still am keen to play the tourist even though I'm only travelling 10kms to Heidelberg every day. So I thought about taking a few photos of things which aren't exactly typical in Australia or North America, but seem commonplace here. A few examples are the tram station being on the edge of a farming field, seeing about a million bicycles locked up around the Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof and the very long river boats that cruise up and down the Neckar.
