    Woke up at the crack of dawn after a good nights sleep today and had a good walk round to see the nearby sites. Even though it was early the fish market was in full swing and what a site to behold, fresh fish galore straight off the boat onto the quayside, 2 litres of Mussels Si Vous Plait ! - my kind of grocery shopping. We ventured into town for fresh bread and the best garlic we have had in years to make Moules Marinere later ...

We did visit the grotto where it all began...a young girl slipped into this cave to shelter from the rain in about 1830 and saw a vision of Mary. This then re-occurred about 20 times, during one of which the vision led the girl to scrap back the earth to reveal a spring from which water gushed till this day.     ... on the main square. In the afternoon walking around the old town I heard this thrumming noise coming from an old building which I recognized, old mechanical looms. The sign on the door told me nothing, well my French is **** poor although by this time my 12 words have expanded to 24.

    ... site nearest the TGV line for me to enjoy seeing some trains - whilst there were trains they were not intrusive being in a deep cutting by where she picked and didn't disturb our sleep, and I never actually saw one of them.

    The site has a nice pool and bar area but as we were out of season it was closed (even though the site is open all year ) and an open air gym too.

    We were able to walk /buggy ride into Boulogne ...

    All depressed !!

    Pre-Blog

    After the excitement of the previous day, we board the coach at 08:00 and set off for Calais, arriving for a ferry departure at 16:55

    After arriving at Dover a trip up the UK at approximately arrive back in Harrogate at around midnight !!!

    Suitcases full of clean, ironed clothes return to the wardrobes !!!
