      Tried to take the ferry a couple of days early but the charge was ridiculous so here we are still! Did an excellent shop in Auchan, then found a brilliant are at Les Erables for the night. A super long walk yesterday was flowed by a quiet and peaceful night. Now 'enjoying' a coffee and the wifi and back to the same aire for the night with an early ferry ...

      A pleasant day with lunch and wifi at Flunch (Auchan) and then off to Calais for the vet. Parked at the aire in clear weather and sunshine and no obvious problems so we opted to stay. It was a noisy night with police presence, loads of sirens and a disturbed sleep. So, we headed off to the port to re-arrange our return but at 69 ...

      ... day trips as a child but had never clocked just how beautiful the old town is. We walked along the ramparts and soaked up the heat. We were pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive everything was e.g. a 3 course meal for 8 euros. Bill got to go up the Belfry for free. Isaac and I waved from below.

      ... you'd get in a caravan! Like my mum and dad's in England just 1/3 the size. It has to be said though... The room did look a bit like a prison cell but seeing some prison cells it was a little worse! Unfortunately the TV didn't work either. For 29 euros for the night I suppose we shouldn't complain!
