    ... This extraordinary experience can only be seen in Derby Line, VT/Stanstead, QC.     A nice campground after a 4 hour drive through Montreal - mostly easy driving, which is good, because we didn't know how much twisty, windy, up and down we would face the next day on "La Route des Sommets", and after crossing the border into Maine!

    ... area in the restaurant, heard it was her birthday and brought over a silver bangle bracelet as a gift for her. So thoughtful! As it turns out, it was this lady's 84th birthday the day before!

    Not sure where the time went, but we left there on the 7th. Not enough time, and didn't get to see everyone I wanted to, but we will be back after our east coast adventure. Stay tuned! More to follow from Quebec later in ...

    Went skiing with the Reidy's and their cousins. Jay Peak is definitely a must on a skiers list. Some sweet glade skiing for novices. Packed powder. 25 degrees. Barely a breeze. A couple of quads and a tram bought you to the top. Sitting on the Canadian border in northern Vermont, it's quite remote making for small lift lines.     ... cheese made by the monks. And we got to hear their vespers at 5:00 last evening, all Gregorian chants. It was apple fete at the abbey and the crowds were huge but by the time we had consumed a brick if fromage bleu, blue cheese, potato chips and apples most of the crowd had left. The service was quietly beautiful, soothing and mesmerizing. We drove back to Lac Brome and ate the compote de pomme, apple sauce, ...
