This was of diving in the Galapagos. The main thing you need to know for the moment is we came face to face with massive hammerhead sharks and it was awesome!!! We still have some photos of the beasts from friends who took pictures too so we are waiting on that.
Galapagos Islands, Ecuador nickandbev... players were pleading with the referee for a penalty, Uruguay took the ball up into the Ecuadorian penalty area and the Uruguayan player was fouled. The referee did give a penalty and with the last kick of the game, Uruguay scored the winner. At this stage there still could be a slim outside chance in Argentina didn’t win, but would you credit it, with over four minutes of overtime gone and the last kickoff the game, Argentina scored the winner. The only ...
Puerto Ayora, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador casebrownfamily... here also had expansive views of the island and across to Santiago island which was barely 500metres away from Bartolome. Aparantley there was a lava flow from Santiago about 10 years ago and the flow could be clearly seen stopping just short of Bartolome. Across to Santiago many different colours of rock formations could be seen. Down below we could see a thin strip of land at sea level of lush green vegetation with a sandy beach on both sides, about 300 metres long leading to ...
Puerto Ayora, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador casebrownfamily... the road was no too hilly and within 400 metres we had reached the entrance to the lava tunnel.

We stacked our bikes at the entrance and went in. There was no reception area or, in fact, anyone else there, just a set of stairs leading down to an opening. Inside lights had been installed as far as we could tell along the entire length of the tunnel. The tunnel was huge, it was circular and about 8metres high and in diameter. We walked along the tunnel for about a ...
Puerto Ayora, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador casebrownfamily... We arrived at the fishermans dock, where the sea lions hang out. Opposite was a restaurant called El Chocolate. Despite the name there were no chocolates on sale but the menu was good, varied and economical. There were quite a selection pasta’s which we were keen to try, so we returned the bikes to our tour operator, changed clothes and returned to the restaurant. Jody went for his normal choice of hamberguesa which turned out to be ...

The triathlon was not spectator friendly. The 1500metre swim was happening on the other end of the island at the Itabaca canal, followed by a bike ride that finished just outside of town. The 10k run was all that could be seen with the last 5k done in small laps, we would have to be thankful for that.

We went to the ...
Puerto Ayora, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador casebrownfamilyWe got up early this morning and had our last meal with Pepe before getting on our boat to head over to Santa Cruz. Because of its central location and size Santa Cruz has the largest population of people living on it. Our boat, which was a speed boat with two huge motors took a few hours to travel from one island to the next and was pretty choppy, adding to the adventure. But, thanks to the wrist bands ...
Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador claraz8This morning we had breakfast and dropped our bags off for the cruise ship, there are 16 of us on the cruise. We went to darwins research centre and saw lonesome george (the last tortise of his species) and other large tortises. We met up with the cruise ship for lunch, our rooms are tiny and i'm terrified there will be a fire and i'll be stuck down below deck. The cruise guy took us up to the top of the island ...
Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador lornamaskell... couple of minutes.and had lunch with the poeple we will be with for the next 4 days.

The boat was nice, not too small, and the people are all pretty young. im in a room with this short haired girl from norway, or somewhere similar. My runs only got worse. We then did a bus trip up to see tortises in the wild and also go through a tunnel mad by lava, this one was huge and ...
Santa Cruz, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador nickmask... ve been searching for them and finally find them its pretty cool. We also saw a lot more fish aswell. When we got back on the boat there was a bit of a vomit fest. 3 of the guys vomited, one partially on the other while he was sleeping. HA! It was pretty funny. Once we got back we found a nice burger place and got some real food, im missing nz cheese, the white tasteless stuff they have here is awful! Then to bed, good day.
