... horn at us - the Argentine equivalent of a wolf whistle.

"That's Argentina," the girls say, grimacing. The guidebook had implied Argentine women accept the machismo behaviour as part of their culture. I asked the girls if it bothered them.

"Oh yes," they said. "But sometimes we are afraid to shout back, in case the guy becomes violent." That sounded troublingly familiar, although I couldn't remember an instance in london when ...

We got up fairly early and headed to the nice beach we visited a few days ago. The weather was a little overcast this morning but was forecast to brighten up later in the afternoon. This would be our last day here in Mar del Plata before going to Buenos Aires. We got on the local bus after having another hostel breakfast, typical bread and jam, then walked from there to a good spot on the beach. It was fairly earlier so there wasn't many people ...

    Mar del Plata

We got up early and headed to the bus station to catch a bus to villa gessal a beach town up the coast. We missed the bus by a few minutes, not sure if this was meant to be though as we were going to book for the next one until we discovered it was an expensive journey. We were only going to visit the beach as we heard it was quite lively during the holiday season but we weren't willing to pay how much the ticket was ...
