... climbed out of the valley in the direction of Vila Nova de Paiva across a landscape not unlike Dartmoor, but perhaps with more trees and shrubbery, littered with huge rounded boulders. We have a beautiful breakfast in the lounge at Carmo's. We can't eat outside as it is too cold and later it starts raining. What a contrast from yesterday. We head off for Viseu. We drove 50 mins to Sátão from Viseu after restocking for the weekend at the supermarket. A gourmet weekend was in order and it's not disappointed one bit. Hand peeled prawns in garlic, olive oil and chorizos, traditional Portuguese rolled pork with a local stuffing smothered in onions, pepper, salt and pepper seasonings, large fish kebabs, aubergine & halloumi parcels, cocktails shaken!!! It's all too much holiday fun... Time to travel Monday ...
