It was Memorial Day weekend, so all very busy. Fisherman's Wharf was packed, but the sidewalk musicians were good. Had clam chowder in a cob loaf from a stall. Had a few drinks at "Castagnola's". There was a guy playing the piano and singing - every time someone came in he'd ask where they were from. We were directed to the 'Aussie section' - all great fun.

The weather here this week in The Bay Area has been perfect! You always here about the infamous San Francisco Fog, we have hardly seen a cloud all week and the temperatures have been around 20 degrees. California is in a major drought that has been going on for 4 years. This week the Governor has passed an order ...

... over to Alcatraz at 9:30am. About 15 mins we were there and as soon as we stepped off the boat you could just feel the ireyness of the place. It was incredible to see the cells and just everything was really daunting, it would have been a really hard place. But I guess you do the crime you do the time. We learnt a lot on our self guided audio tour. It was really informative. Then we caught the ferry back at about 11:25am ...
