      ... was very intersting to see and the smell was amazing. We got to try a sample too which was delicious and doesn't get fresher than that I guess! We really wish we had room in our bags to take some home/on wards with us.
      After the tea factory we went to visit the Botanical gardens, which were tended by an English man when they first opened. There is supposed to be a fossilized tree trunk believed to be 20 million years old, but we didn't see it. We just sat in ...

      ... tunnel (of which there is 16) which burnt the nose and made everyone cough..... although for 24p it was still a good deal.

      Ooty has the feeling of Munnar but bigger. Its surrounded by tea plantations and its filled with cold wet clouds all afternoon. One difference is that it has a horse racing course in the middle, which i must admit, if i was a horse i wouldn't wanted to go around. Some of the pot holes could easily fit me in.

      It was a breath of fresh air that delved deep into our lungs when we stepped out of our bus and into the air of Ooty. But we should have heeded the warning signs of Indians wearing thick jackets and woollen hats, as this was cold; 20 degrees colder in fact than where we had came from. Quite a shock to the system and we were not quite prepared for the extreme change, so wearing a multi layer outfit comprising of all our clothes we ventured off ...

      ... They had been billeted just a couple of kilometres from the station and their host had offered to take them to the station … the wrong station as it turned out. It was so lucky that our linen was substandard and needed replacing, and that it took until just after the Pauls arrived flustered, breathless and highly relieved, for the linen to be sorted.
