... to sleep. Adrien and I went to Champs Elysees for three reasons: 1. Um… it’s the most famous street in Paris!!!!! 2. When Adrien’s mom drove us around, I spotted a glee 3D movie poster up in French and really wanted a picture of it…. Yea… and 3. There is a new Abercrombie there that apparently is beautiful. ... So Ubu goes to war with the Russians, but he refuses to spend any money at all, so obviously in the end they lose the war, and then Venceslas's surviving son is put on the throne. Ubu manages to sneak away and they don't kill him and then he and Mère Ubu decide to go live in France. The End.

I didn't make it sound very exciting, but it really is a great, funny story.

The wonderful thing about a play like Ubu Roi is how firmly it is planted outside of ...

Saturday morning and time to leave Paris. We took an airport shuttle to Orly Airport to pick up our rental car. There were other passengers in the shuttle who had a plane to catch and the traffic was horrendous at 9am in the morning. Our shuttle driver performed many amazing manoevures through the traffic, none of which would be classified as legal! But we got there in the end and after squeezing our suitcase into the little Ford Fiesta we set off.

I then ventured up roughly 248 stairs to the Sacre Coeur, while everyone else took the fournicular up the hill. Once at the top, I quickly rushed inside the church because the rain started to come down even harder. The inside was just spectacular, and I'd seen a lot of churches on the trip! ... set up in an amphitheater type arrangement, there is very little space on the floor and lots of tiers on the sides with a bar and bar stool configuration for eating. Of course, when we got there, they decided that there was no room on the floor so they took us to the bar. Now, I can appreciate a bar and bar stool as much as anyone in the proper environment, e.g. where one is drinking and NOT with one's children.
