... boulevard, and is wide and 7ks long. Its lined with stunning looking buildings and of course most western shops. I came across a lovely park where an orchestra was playing for free, so i had a rest there and did some people watching.
Palace square is huge, and so is the Winter Palace. I was running out of time but i needed to see inside the palace, as from the pictures i have seen it must see it. It costs about $12 for a ticket, but it was worth double that. ...

... but they'd fallen short of the mark. Fid and I sat and stressed over returning to the boat in time, though calmed somewhat by the Franziskaner - the girls raided Stockmann once more before collecting us for the return to the boat.

The people are nice, the food is odd but nice enough, the architecture rivals Germany in the boring stakes. I don't know that we'd rush back, but it's great to have seen it for ourselves, where else can you eat Rudolf?

... than other parts of Europe. Over the next few days moose, reindeer and whale will be on the menu....... Stopped at a little town call Ulou for a walk and lunch. The deli lady gave me a piece of smoked reindeer to try..... tasty. A bit like pastrami to me. Wayne had a sausage from the market square, no idea what kind it was, it was hot and she was selling lots so should be ok.

While it is early in the season to be travelling this part of the world one ...
