Urb. Cala Esmeralda 8 Cala d'Or, Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands
Arive and spend day in Majorca Also known as Majorca, this Balearic island is a true Mediterranean paradise. It's deservedly famous for such natural wonders as its golden-sand beaches, tall pine groves and towering cliffs. The landscape is as varied as the northern mountains and the southern flatlands with their almond and olive groves. Among the many must-sees are a Gothic castle, a 13th century cathedral and the former palace of Mallorcan kings.
Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mercurystormJust south of the town of Portocristo are the Cuevas del Drach, which are really four caves all connected to each other. This cave however has a large lake in it, called Martel Lake. It's large enough to ride a boat in and to see all the stalactites hanging from the ceiling. It’s a beautiful place ...
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourney... waded around in the surf or fell back to sleep on the beach. It was good to get rehydrated after all the alcohol and dancing from last night. It was a nice relaxing afternoon with a beautiful beach view with several other yachts in the bay and a parade of nude or topless people walking by.
One of the girls met a guy on the beach. They spent a few hours chatting and getting to know each other. It was ...
Adios!
Campos, Playa d' Es Trenc, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands susbol1... In addition to the truly impressive stalactite/stalagmite formations which absolutely cover the cave for its full length there are underground lakes that are crystal clear. The largest of these lakes is in the last and largest chamber. The lake is 177 meters (580 ft.) long by 40 meters (131 ft.) wide by 30 meters (98 ft.) deep. That makes it one of the largest subterranean lakes in the world. For the entire length of the cave ...
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain graybeard... designed to separate the tourists from their money. It is a pretty bay with a very large marina filled with yachts from all over.
Phoenicians settled at this site in about 700 BC, using it as a link for trade between Africa and Spain. The Romans came in, destroyed the Phoenician town and built their own town of Pollentia, the capital of the Island. In 426 AD, Pollentia was destroyed by ...
... the town of Muro so I went to check it out. I got myself lost a few times wandering around the twisting medieval streets of little towns and had to retrace my steps a few times. I explored all around Muro. I did find lots of windmill remains... just the base... but no windmill. The day was completely overcast with occasional sprinkles so the conditions weren't conducive to photography. Maybe tomorrow.
s'Estanyol de Migjorn, Balearic Islands, Spain graybeard... br>After returning home to stock the refrigerator I went to Randa. In the middle of the agricultural plains of Mallorca there's a small hill (Puig Randa, 540 meters, 1,771 feet) on which is located the town of Randa. At the top of the hill an old monastery shares space with a forest of radio antennae, the town is further down the hill. I had lunch at the hotel in Randa, explored the town a little, then headed up to the ...
Randa, Balearic Islands, Spain graybeard... run away from the rat-race. So I booked my flight on easy jet and left in the past summer. Its a Island of most relaxed people on earth, when you go from London like city you will feel that more than other, even sometime you will wonder why they are so relaxed and so fun loving. As a single, I find Palma De Mallorca the most hang-out able ...
Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands e2travellerRecently stayed at a villa called Casa Rigo operated by Dream Villas for a friend's hen weekend and it was fantastic. There were 15 of us who were delighted that on arrival there were ice cold bottles of water waiting for us in the fridge plus milk, tea, coffee etc. The apartment was excellent and seemed to have an endless supply of crockery, enough bathrooms, a beautiful pool and bbq area, ping pong table, pool ...
