        We finally said goodbye to "our" boat this morning and spent a few hours hanging out playing in Branges as we waited for our taxi to Lyon. Amazing what you can do with things around you!         We disembarked in Oistreham and went through passport control at 08:00 am.

        We set Chloe (our sat nav) to take us the toll free route to Montmerle sur Soane! We stop for a snack at 10:00 ish but fail to find a cafe so settle for some drinks and nibbles from a local supermarket. Later we do find a cafe for lunch! The first half of the journey is through ...

        ... during the French Revolution, and only restored recently. The ticket to the abbey also included one to a nearby museum. It mostly contained pieces of the building that had been found during excavations. We picked up some food for lunch at a near by bakery and then returned to the hotel to set off on our bikes.         ... a large display of hotels showed up (the beam of light) spotted le promenade hotel. girls got off. booked the room and parked up in the parking area where directed by the hotel staff.1 ticket didn't work and when staff confronted did the typical french talk of "no comprendes" - will have to see in the morning whether the pre paid tickets worked or not!!!! had fabulous tea -- I with proper steak.
