Napa Valley, California, United States hikebiketravel... up and the guy Jamie was great. A beautiful ranch, we sat in the lviing room and drank a collection of great pinots and syrahs. Second we went to the ever famous Chateau Montelena. (Winner of the imfamous Judgement of Paris 1976 tasting for their 1973 C******nay). After being greeted by the world's biggest douchebag, we were passed onto Mary-Ann this sassy 50-something year old woman who gave us a great tasting. We got to try the 2003 C ...

My moon-shot through the window pretty much told them that I was not going to play.

What I saw: A foggy vista the stretched all the way from the south bay area right through to the north end of wine country. Sugar Loaf ridge state park, California, United States doctormick... of vines clinging to steep sided hills and a 'cave’ (human dug tunnels into the hill) where the tasting happens but the wine was a little bland. Not bad at all, just not memorable. The only one I liked was a late bottled Zinf which was sweet and fruity like so many of my friends J Ferrari (or whatever it was called) had much more distinctive wine – being one the designated drivers I could not taste too much but ...
Santa Rosa, California, United States doctormick... We skipped driving through the "Avenue of the Giants" segment because it was raining, the road is narrow, winding and where you can't take a motorhome anyways. Observation 1 - Although the redwoods grow straight, the bark and the grains spiral in a clockwise fashion. I wonder if they're counter-clockwise in the S Hemisphere? Observation 2 - Every roadway, creek, bluff, valley, overpass ...

I bought a couple of bottles only this time as I ...

I get to get to the school at around 9am to start training but the good news is that one of my coworkers took me to the school in order to start my transition to the school. Ok well that's about it for the first day. Stay tuned for the second day! Over and out!

Santa Rosa, California, United States carly33... having an unwanted "gift" basket of zucchini delivered when away. When we arrived with Claudia at the Sacremento Friends Meeting for a "100-mile potluck" we noticed a box of lemons on the floor with a sign saying, "please take as many as you want," confirming our ponderings. A delight in arriving at the Meetinghouse was the banner hanging outside welcoming us! (see photo) The conversation following our presentation that night was full-ranged and exciting.
