... within the landscape of rock and towering pine trees as opposed to on top of it. We ate delicious burgers from a local joint that offered a plate of fries rightfully named "The mess", an enormous pile of chili and cheese covered fries topped with onions that nearly broke through the plate it was served on. After much digesting we even found a sweet spot to go sledding, leaving the hill with wet, snow soaked pants and frozen fingers, so worth it though.

Dad invited me out to the races this year and so he, Uncle Mike, and I went on the last day. Roamed all over the air field and saw some pretty sweet rides (check out the pics). They had the Blue Angels do a show and I was surprised to see the flag from the old homestead coming down with one of the parachutists (it was the AK Air Guard). All in all a good, if short, trip.
Reno, Nevada, United States richard.reimers... that we were unlikely to find another stop for some time I took my chances and drove on. Basically I was setting myself up.
We'd been pretty good at avoiding MacDonald's so far on the trip. Mostly because who would choose to eat there when there are other options? After 45 more minutes of driving, left with no other options and little indication that there might be another place to stop within a short distance, we conceded defeat.

... the RV with enough food and supplies to last at least a week. Thank goodness, the thought of shopping after flying across country with two kids under 3 would have sent me over the edge of sanity. Our flight was long and exhausting, the kids slept for the last 10 minutes of the five hours of traveling. Brett caught his second wind but Grandma and I just wanted to go ...

I don't know about the rest of the year, but during Street Vibrations, in the evening, the only reason for Virginia City's main street to exist is boobs.
Specifically, for women passengers to flash theirs in exchange for shouting. Excuse me, in ...
... you will not find. It's about 25 miles south of Amman, so they could call it the Petra airport or Aqaba airport just as well. It is way out in the desert. The Hotel we stayed in, the Dove, was in the Embassy district, so we went for a walk. Lots of soldiers that did not want their pictures taken everwhere, especially at night. I asked if I could take pictures at the Palestinian Embassy down the street and was forbidden.

... the lake. Lake Tahoe is split between California and Nevada. In South Lake Tahoe there are no casinos on the Califronian side but as soon as you cross the state line into Nevada there is a casino.
Back in Reno, I went back to Fitzgeralds to try my luck again and ended up being 70 up by the end of the night. I thought that was a pretty good result and hope that I will have even more luck when I get to Vegas!
IT IS EARLY MORNING AND TODAY WE DO THE FIRST RACE. I AM FIRST IN SILVER AND WILL START ON THE POLE POSITION UNLESS SOMEONE QUALIFIES FASTER. WE FLY AT 1315 IN THE PM. JIM AND JACKIE YAISER ARRIVED YESTERDAY AND WILL BE HELPING. I REALLY HAVE MY EYE ON ...
Reno, Nevada, United States teamzipperThe first stop of my trip was the Burningman festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. ¨The event is described by organizers as an experiment in community, radical self-expression, and radical self-reliance and takes its name from the ritual of burning a large wooden sculpture of a man on the sixth day.¨ It is a week long festival, in the middle of the desert, entirely put on by the ...
Reno, Nevada, United States bjacobs77... His official time was 6:30.817 for 8 laps, speed 234.893 mph. We took the rest of the day off to celebrate - had a nice lunch & watched the Thunderbirds. Tonite is the IF1 barbecue - as rookies we have to be servers. We will not race any more, so tomorrow we will have to disassemble the airplane & load the trailer. Sunday night is the awards banquet, held in the hangar we are using, so we have to get the airplane out of the way.
