... lamps of different shapes and design, fluffy new towels, and a beautiful window shade that looked like art.

When we arrived at the venue, we were greeted by the most fun crew we've had yet. These guys have worked our show several times, and were familiar with the whole deal. So, when the van arrived late due to a flat tire, they had already unloaded the truck and were half way set up. They were so ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States tourdev... marches, Martin Luther King, Jr., Governor George Wallace, court ordered busing and integration, Rosa Parks, the bus boycott, the Southern Poverty Law Center and on and on....but THIS is the place where most of that history unfolded.

We stopped and toured the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King, Jr. was minister. We knocked on the door and a friendly woman let us in and gave the three of us a ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States jodieandandy... s great love for this land and lodge. It is a world of it’s own. It is the perfect complement to their elegant home in town.
While we were gone on the Kabota, Suzy was cleaning and organizing for the next group of friends and family coming in for a visit. There are wonderful and imaginative touches everywhere! As Suzy and Young have traveled they have brought back interesting and fitting art for this eclectic farm house. While the house was being built Suzy had a dream where ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States jodieandandy... sauntered in with a confidence only a man used to his station in life exudes. "If that is true", Young drawls in his slow paced perfectly timed bass voice, "I’ll walk naked to the Dairy Queen!"

That set the pace for the evening as we all climbed in Young’s SUV and travel down to Marney’s a couple blocks away. George had to leave us to be with his wife, Donna for her birthday dinner. For George to squeeze in time to visit with us ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States jodieandandyI dropped Luba off at the Savannah airport this morning at 5am. It was hard to see her off. We had the best time ever.

I had taken all side roads today all the way from Savannah. Traveled almost 600 miles before stopping for the day. I rode mostly on US 80 the entire day. I love riding on two lane roads. Its a great way to see the country side.

Stopped in Montgomery, Al. It just will not stop raining. Need a break. Waiting for the weather to ...

This was not an easy task and she scurried out as quickly as she could.

In the afternoon, my cousin Frankie saddled up some of the horses and Alex got to go for a little ride. Then there was more swimming and even time to hold one of Uncle D's new baby ducks...a father's day gift from his daughters.

We had a very peaceful and relaxing visit and can't wait to go back again.
Prattville, Alabama, United States hollyesparza... Oreo cookie and cream cheese balls dipped in chocolate...decadence. While Jackie was cooking, we walked down to the barn so Alex could help feed the horses. Tori & Bella were very intrigued with these new creatures and weren't quite sure how to approach them. It was a funny site.

Prattville, Alabama, United States hollyesparza... First recommended place is closed (Sam's which is only open for lunch?). After some searching we find highly rated Dreamland Barbeque. It recently moved into downtown Montgomery - we are driving in circles searching for the old location on the outskirts. Seems to be a downtown party going on tonight. Lots of people carrying drinks around. Dreamland is packed. We squeeze a way in and eat at the bar. Good barbeque (however it was ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States tednimsSadly we had to leave our friends and headed off quite early (although not as early as originally planned). The trip went very well with no real holdups along the way. However it was a very long day and we were very glad to get to our destination, get something to eat and then some sleep. Fortunately the kids were all able to have their own beds as the room rates were quite reasonable. The most interesting sight was when we turned of ...
Montgomery, Alabama, United States glover_family... and brother Aaron and his fiancée Misty as well as their hyperactive Jack Russell, Zeke. As a side note, I think Zeke is the smartest dog I have ever met. More on that later. Justin and I spend some time on the hammock out front listening to the night sounds and smelling the gardenias while we chat about life. Back inside, there are stories recounted and many laughs enjoyed before we dig into "Planet Earth" on the Discovery Channel and eventually head off to bed. What a full day!
