... 12 bucks a day!

Alcatraz was only 15min away and it was.. well, much less interesting than I expected it to be. I wish they let us see more of the island than just one road that led to the prison and one floor of the prison. The best part of it, however, were the three guys that did manage to escape. Washington Square was our introduction to North Beach; ...

No real news from yesterday, as we simply caught the train to Downtown LA to catch our 8 hour bus to San Fran (arriving late last night). However, today we got up early to visit Alcatraz. Even though James went there a couple years ago, he was happy to visit it again. Walking through the prison with the audio tour was just as fascinating as last time, learning all about the inmate life and attempted escapes from Alcatraz. Arriving back at Pier 33 around lunchtime, we decided ...

... convert to heaters so it’s as warm as we want to make it. I am now wearing long pants and socks but Tim is holding out and is determined to wear shorts till Winter Break – 1 more week. Our apartment is noticeably cooler because there’s not a lick of heat in it and the floors are cold tile. I imagine we will be buying a portable heater when we return for January. The weather is very pleasant for walking now and great for ...
