... we could hear someone on a PA system saying random "Elvis-like" words. As we got closer, it was someone setting up his speakers on the footpath and testing it with random nonsense words, what ever happened to "testing 123"? Today we were up early! We walked down to the bus stand to catch the Big Bus hop on hop off sight seeing bus. Places we visited today were, Lincoln memorial, Washington Monument, World War II memorial, The White House, Madame Tussaud and the The Ford Theatre. Had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. ... else to do or see after the parade so we just wandered around. Eventually we realised we were near the White House so strolled on up to have a look. We could see some figures standing on the porch - I am happy to think they were Barack and Michelle (although others might think them just security people).
