Early start today to check out of hotel #1 and head to the boat. It was a great day after some initial confusion and panic and nearly missing the boat (I have now explained to them the difference in English between "being picked up outside the auditorium" and "making your own way to the boat opposite the auditorium across two main roads and a car park")! There was probably a total of 50 people on the boat of mixed ages and nationalities. After leaving the port, we headed west ...

Monica and I went for a late dinner and randomly stumbled across a very nice restaurant for some authentic Mallorquin tapas. There were lots of different food stands (think Borough Market al Palma) and we sat at one with a few different tapas (obviously!). This afternoon we went to the Es Baluard art gallery which was interesting. A few pieces of local Mallorquin art including a small Joan Miro exhibition. A quick mojito with Monica, Trisha ...

... so made the most of that and baked for a little while before heading down to do my homework! Tonight - the school has organised a visit to a flamenco display - well I think it is a display - somebody else said we had to learn flamenco ourselves - oh the joy of not really understanding the language! It was only me and Monica from our class but a few others from a more ...

... although it really does take me back to those first few days at school - 25 years ago! I thought the lessons might be approached differently and just concentrate on getting by in Spanish, but it seems that this old school way is the standard method. Homework was finished early today so enjoyed a Puzzler by the pool - being so high (8th floor) means there is a lovely breeze to help cope with the 30C temperature... Dinner with Monica ...
