It's been a hectic few days, getting ready for this trip, but finally I'm on my way! Pegasus Airlines cancelled my Istanbul to Konya flight and I didn't find out till late Sunday! Managed to rebook for the next morning (Wed) and find a room in the airport hotel. Now I'm on my way ...
... however they really don't do Bern any justice. We were wishing we had of stayed here overnight rather than Zurich... Lunch time stop is at the picturesque town of Montreux. Yes another 'jaw droppingly' stunning place. I think I will be using that description quite a bit during this tour! Montreux is situated on the shores of Lake Genève and wow! Photos are attached and these are only on the shoreline as we only had an hour and a half. ...
... on the night of the 800 year celebration of the town. Everyone seemed to be out enjoying the balmy evening and free entertainment...... And so were we! We even got interviewed by a lovely guy from the local paper. The only issue was trying to negotiate the language, which is a particular dialect of German. Of particular issue the use of parking meters and the menus, but both were eventually negotiated with the assistance of helpful ...
... upon a pub at the top. Thought it would be rude not to have a thirst quenching beverage so stopped in as the only customers and had a couple of pints and ciders sitting on the streets in the very nice surroundings. I had dressed ready to arrive back in Edinburgh late so I was struggling with the warm temperatures in my jeans so sitting down for a bit in the shade was very welcoming.
We didn't have anything particular on the agenda for Geneva, so ...

-we walked along the shoreline and just enjoyed the weather outside before heading back to Lausanne. it was bustling on the other side of Lake Leman (aka Lake Geneva)! there were a TON of people hanging out, playing in the fountains, playing giant chess... it was awesome! ...
