    ... however they really don't do Bern any justice. We were wishing we had of stayed here overnight rather than Zurich... Lunch time stop is at the picturesque town of Montreux. Yes another 'jaw droppingly' stunning place. I think I will be using that description quite a bit during this tour! Montreux is situated on the shores of Lake Genève and wow! Photos are attached and these are only on the shoreline as we only had an hour and a half. ...

    Breakfast in room, picked up our tickets from the train station and changed some money from CHF to Euro. Walked to lake Geneva, took a boat ride on the lake - very cold out on the lake.     So we headed out there this morning by tram on another very hot day. We spent the first hour at the visitor centre and then had a tour of the Atlas Experimental Centre. The Atlas facility houses a "general purpose" detector that is looking for anything interesting. At CERN they also send neutrinos through the Alps to Italy where they can detect them.     I decided to venture out of Montreux with a train ride to Lausanne. I discovered they were hosting some athletic event post Olympics so the part of the town I wanted to look at was blocked off for the triathlon event.
