... As well as to the fortress, on the
first morning of the tour he also took us to a Teqi, something I have never
heard of before. A Teqi is a house of religious worship that differs from a
mosque in several ways including the presence of tombs in the building. They
are used by the Bektashi sect of Islam, something I had also not heard of
previously. The Bektashis are a moderate sect associated with Dervishes that

We had something to drink (Albanian beer is great on a hot day) and then we continued to Vau i-Dejes, where we bought fruits at a greengrocer's and then we started to climb the first set of switchback bends that took us up to the level of Lake Komani, the first of the lakes behind the dams.

We were following the route we discovered in 2012 so we knew some interesting places ...

The bus ride to Ulcinj took a lot longer than planned as there was quite a bit of traffic On the roads. At one stage we were stuck, stand still, in a tunnel due to a car crash but we eventually got to our destination. When we arrived at the bus station an American guy was being extremely helpful trying to work out how we could get to our booked accommodation. Unfortunately when you are travelling you become very sceptical of people who want to help you as most of the ...
