We arrived at the bus station in time to
catch the 10 o’clock bus to Rethymnon. We had stopped there briefly on our
previous visit when we took the bus from Heraklion to Chania, and remembered it
as somewhere we would like to see more of.
After the exertions of the previous day we
made a leisurely start with the intention of going to the Elafonsi beach, which

We got up at 4:30 to catch the bus from the nearby village of Kolimbari at 5:15. We had prepared a packed lunch the night before, so we had a quick breakfast and arrived at the bus stop in good time.
