      ... or train station.

      You can drink openly here and many people do. It's fun to walk around with a beer. But it's a mellow vibe, unlike New Orleans. It's also an artsy city, with lots of nice graffiti (and some bad stuff too) and art shops.

      We saw some fun ska bands at a place called ChemiFabrik. Beers were dirt cheap there and were all delicious Pilsners, my fave. We explored some museums and paid to go ...

      ... then dinner. Sometimes the camp commander would order special meals to be prepared. Prisoners families were allowed to send in packages, and he would order that everything in these packages be dumped into the pots and that is what was served for dinner. This included things like toothpaste, medicines, books, and so on. It was mind blowing to be there and hear the stories and see the signs of the cruelty perpetrated against human beings by other human beings.

      ... similar to the allotments they have in England. The next day, Saturday, was going to be busy because this was a long weekend, so we set off early to see one of the most popular tourist sites here, Bastei Bridge, built in 1851. We caught an old bus which wound its way inland, then we walked down the track for a huge WOW moment which continued for hours. The rock formations in this area were truly amazing.
