      Calais

A travel blog entry by johndibbo on Nov 22, 2014

En route yesterday we lunched at Fort Mahon Plage, a huge aire with free water and vid angle facilities but the whole place seemed closed, a ghost town almost! Moved on the Stella Plage, finding our first Beaujolais Nouveau, superb even! Honore Lavigne selected for a gold medal by Jean Luc Pouteau ( described on the ...

Le Hourdel is free and this time we managed to park on the edge of the beach with clear views across Le Baie du Somme. Excellent walks and this morning lucky to observe a couple of seals swimming in close with the high tide, absolutely brilliant nothing like seeing seals in the wild. No photos as they move too quickly for our ...

... enjoyable was being able to enjoy all the beautiful Autumn colours. We passed through a lot of woodland and I'm sure it would have been a bit boring in plain green! We wouldn't hesitate to go at the same time another year.

We didn't have much choice with campsites - Municipals especially seem to close at the end of September - but luckily with ...
