... us Emily's husbands , Sean's car. So there we were tootling up the A40 and then the M40 to Oxfordshire. we were doing well until we got a bit lost and ended up in Banbury. So at 10.30 we rang Caroline (Mandy's sister in law) and luckily we got back to Steeple Aston at about 11. So the day was car, ferry, car, plane, car. Absolutely shattered the next day but we are both in fine form now. Sitting out writing this blog in the garden and it is about 25 degrees. Perfect. We caught ...
... To do this we need many things, not least of which is a strong dependable workhorse to get us around and arguably no better vehicle exists for this than a Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series. So, here's a picture of our latest acquisition. It's nearly 20 years old and has done nearly 167,000 miles and still going strong. It's in standard shape right now and will be base lined for a long trip and have few modifications to ...
... gave the house tremendous character.
For dinner we walked 3 doors down to the "Prince of India" where the meal was so good the first night that we ended up having dinner there 3 times in a row! It was packed solid every night--and they ran a take out service simultaneously!
During our short visit to the Cotswolds we had time to visit and explore Stow-on-the-Wold (aka SOTW) and 3 other villages ...
... indie rock band who have been on the scene for years and have done pretty well, with a new album “TV en Francais” this year were the penultimate act on the stage. Pleasant enough in the late evening sun and definitely not lacking energy.
Although Oxford is a fascinating place, it is with some relief that we are back on the road. The constant hum of noise from the students ruminating over their chosen subjects dominate the cafes, restaurants and pretty much everywhere within the city.
We set out about 8.30 am and a few kilometres out of Oxford pass Blenheim Castle, birthplace of Winston Churchill. We make good time to our first stop for the day near ...

TravelPod Member Reviews Episode Hotel Leamington Spa
Nice little hotel with friendly staff and lovely decor. The breakfast and all other hotel food could be improved. Simple food would be better than trying to be fancy and getting it completely wrong. Also, the tv reception is poor. If it's summer time make sure you get a room on one of the lower floors as the top floor gets a bit warm. As far as a little hotel in a small town goes, it was satisfactory, but you might just want to go into town and get a meal (or a takeaway salad from Tescos) as each one was disappointing.
