... on bench looking over the Argolic Gulf. Cute town surrounded by 3 old fortresses that they light up at night. We staying at Amalia Hotel. Our rooms are very basic and have funny smell. Like big time Frebreeze or cleaning product. As we were leaving our rooms the smell in hall was weird mixture of dinner and cleaning products. A couple on the tour asked us what that weird smell was? ... song in the accoustically perfect amphitheater of Epidavros; we hiked up the hills behind Nafplion, the one-time capital of Greece...
It was so amazing not only to see these places, but also to experience them.
While we have really enjoyed exploring this beautiful, rugged country, we're ready to move on. Next stop: Rome for the weekend!

One surfer was battling with the stormy sea as I took shelter in a cafe, but I could see that in calmer weather this area would be very attractive.

After coffee, I walked away from the sea and saw wonderful modern architecture, something I have always admired in Corinth.

Eventually I headed back to my hotel as the storm gathered and the wind became too strong for me to want to stay outside.
