Was great to have that done so easily. It is a 4 star hotel - more up market than we usually use but had a good price and is close to the Olympic Centre and a Metro stop - easy walking distance.

Late that evening we finally found ourselves outside of the tourist trap and stumbled onto a fabulous outdoor establishment, we relaxed for hours over a fantastic bottle of French red and a bubbly cheese fondue, followed by sensational meals.

Had a nice walk around the old port of Montreal, this morning before we headed of to find the infamous Schwartz smoked meat deli where they officially make the best sandwich on the planet before we all headed back to the old town for the fireworks and the countdown to midnight !!! We meet up with all the friends we made in Toronto who had also come up to Montreal for New Years, so we sat in our mates hotel room and had a few drinks before we headed out ...
... lost all our food shopping (thrown out by hostel staff) we decided to head to one of the well-known food markets, Marche Jean-Talon, and bought some fruit and veg. See pics.
