... was also an exhibition of sculptures made out of plants throughout the gardens. The gardens cover a large area and take a few hours to go round but there are a couple of cafes which sell draught beer and snacks. The sculptures were amazing so I include a few photos o some of them.
Montreal is a city which grows on you the longer you stay so I am glad we had 3 days to get around it. It does not have the beauty of Quebec bu has plenty of good places to visit.

The highlight of our morning in Montreal was the opportunity to explore Old Montreal with its shops, eateries and art galleries. We also visited the beautiful Basilica of Notre-Dame, inspired by its name sake in Paris. The Basilica holds daily Catholic Mass and we joined a conducted tour where an organist plays. Notably, the singer Celine Dion, who hails from Montreal ...
... loads, different tires and different balance settings. It's all pretty meaningful to them but confuses the hell out of us spectators. We saw the usual gaggle of support race practices and qualifying sessions too, but we opted out of the Porsche GT 3 cup and F1600 because we were damp cold and hungry and soon to be grumpy. Saturday dawned foggy and that's never a good sign for racing. Normally Saturday is a good full day of racing in 4 categories plus F 1 ...
... The chalet was constructed in 1932 under the mayoralty of Camillien Houde as a make-work project during the Great Depression. The French Beaux Arts structure was designed by Montreal architect Aristide Beaugrand-Champagne (1876-1950). The building can host various events with room for 300 to 700 patrons. The southside of the building is a bricked courtyard and lookout with a view of Montreal's skyline from Mont-Royal.
