Awoke late with the fat German next door in the camper talking about something. Given it was half way through the morning the caffeine fix was calling. Happy to say the coffee at the camp site restaurant was excellent, as was the cake. After brekky and feeling lethargic I unpacked all my gear seeking some unnecessary stuff to send back, unfortunately one spanner a pair of undies and a T shirt was all I could find and hardly ...

... I was on knobblies - they were clearly not! Eventually came across a town called - Potes and said to myself if there is a camp site walking distance from town that will be my resting spot. It should have been easy to get out of the town and onto the coast road leading west towards the Picos National Park. But a combination of traffic lights and my inattention means that within five minutes I ...

We do like mountains, especially in fine weather - nature's theme park for thrills and spectacle. Over the years we have enjoyed the Highlands of Scotland, the Italian Dolomites, Austrian, Swiss and French Alps, Pyrenees, to name a few, but I only became aware of Spain's Picos de Europa a couple of years ago during our 'Grand Tour'. On that occasion our route meant that we would be visiting in late September and we didn't think the weather would be ideal, so we would leave it ...
