... really encouraging compliments. These comments were very motivational at this point because we had already been traveling so many consecutive days. He described to us some new methods to use and which methods worked best for us already. During this experience, I realized what a universal language sketching is. You can communicate with so many people no matter what language, age, race or culture. Everyone can see a picture ...

Roundabouts and One-way-streets?? riiight.

... stopped at a vet clinic (yes a vet clinic) and asked how to get to the road we needed to get to. The vet couldnt stop laughing at the fact that we sincerely thought we were in Glasgow. Oh no, we were actually in RENFREW!! A comparing factor would be St. Thomas to Toronto. So now that we are at our hostel (yes our hostel, no breakfast cooked for us tomorrow), we are deciding to maybe stayin Glasgow another night because we havent got the feel for ...

Just for Amy

... it was brillant, the young lady who was our guide was full of information and very funny. We weren't going to stay on the whole way around to begin with but then changed our mind when we started listening to her..

We found Amy's grandfathers bridge and took some photos.. still very cold by this stage but decided to do some shopping.. I didn't realise it was such good shopping in Glasgow my memories of this city in 2000 was a very ...

Exploring Loch Long

The plan for today, courtesy of the Crumps, was to motor the 18 or so miles up Loch Long, lunch at the top and return. The morning brought a bright, breezy day and we set off in Jomima at about 10:30. Her most economical displacement cruising speed is at about 8.5 knots, when she uses about a gallon of fuel every 3 miles or so. At economy planing speed of 18 knots, then consumption increases to ...

The Necropolis, Is that the only thing worth doing

... that people who are alive like to carve their names over dead peoples names on their tombstones. I wouldn't mess with ghosts, you never know if they are Casper or what. We then walked across town to the Botanical Gardens and walked around there for the afternoon. We walked down by the river and found it to be more intersting here as there were trees and wildlife and not concrete. The squirrels there are extra friendly and will jump on your leg if you are not ...

What is it with these Islanders?

... we'd have to pack it on the plane on Wednesday and that would involve inquiries by security into places I'm not willing to let them) so we're going to cook up some mean pasta and chicken and wine and strawberry scones. THEN, amazingly enough, we've found this pub that we checked into and figured out that they're showing the game tonight. Mmmm.....speaking of which, my Oilers hat has created quite the stir with a number of people. . .okay, three, but it's ...

Glasgow

... Galleries, the Burrell Collection, the Museum of Transport, the Science Centre and a unique museum on religious history and the effect religion has had on people's lives. On that same theme Glasgow Cathedral is well worth a visit - it is the only mediaeval cathedral on the Scottish mainland to have survived the 1560 Reformation virtually intact. The overall impression of Glasgow was of huge Victorian ...
