... was the Novodevichy Convent, founded in 1524 it's probably a nice place to enter, I however avoided it due the entrance fee. I walked around the walls to the nearby park where multiple wedding were having photo shoots in the hot and muggy Moscow morning. Adjacent to the Convent is one of the most famous cemeteries in Russia, Chekhov, Bulgakov among others are buried there, but the gravestones are amazing. ... and sandwich making bits in time to wash our trousers! Spare trousers on we are about to go off for a walk around this area. We have spotted a splendid looking church in one direction and a massive Mother Russia type statue in the other! The park opposite is like the monuments park in Budapest where the Hungarians dumped (repositioned) all of their soviet era sculptures, thus freeing the city of the monstrous brutes.
We had breakfast...lovely porridge but hard bread ...

... email. After some time were given two choices. Either fly to St Petersburg with a connection through Amsterdam and arrive 5 hours later than planned or get a flight directly to Moscow. We only had a day in St Petersburg and arriving 5 hours late would have nullified any time we would have had to see the city.
