... They were everywhere. In fact I tripped on a couple so desperate they were to eat their crumbs they don't move out of the way very fast.
It was late afternoon by this stage and we needed to get to Verona to check in to the next hotel. So we retraced our steps to the Metro, and found our car exactly where we had left it - wheels all in tact, no graffiti and no traffic tickets - woohoo!
A short 90 minute drive and we were in the fair city ...
... in the town square, on the sides of roads and under hotels. All very charming.
After a morning coffee, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta. Later that afternoon we went for a walk about the streets near our hotel, and then ate a good Italian meal at a local restaurant. Finished the day with a gelato sitting by the lake, watching the boats bobbing about in the marina. A truly lovely day.
Off to Milan tomorrow and then Verona. Liking Italy more and ...

Apart from eating non-stop, we did have a lot of learning because we met many stakeholders who gave us a deep guide to BCD travel and its functions. ... fast it was. Our train to Milan arrived 10mins late cutting our changeover time when we arrive in Milan down to 10mins. Could be interesting. Watched a large man and his wife playing musical chairs repeatedly as people got on with seat reservations and would make them move. It only costs a few Euro to reserve a seat so I really don't see why anyone wouldn't pay that and avoid the hassle! Unexpectedly our train made up time and pulled into ...
... minutes later boarded our boat to Belligio! The boat stopped at lots of stops on the way but the villas on the lake were interesting! Probably over 10 stops before Belligio! It took 2 1/2 hours total! We met some interesting people waiting for the boat and on the boat! A couple from San Francisco was touring on their own for three weeks -- older than us and hauling their luggage -- four pieces! They were staying in Belligio for three ...
