A good location. Some traffic sounds pass through the walls and windows non-stop. Good service.

We toured the markets and then had a lovely Italian lunch before taking the train back. Saturday we took the bus to Eze Village and the next day we had lunch in Nice with Kaye’s friends Katy and John who have an apartment in Nice on the port. A lovely place where you can watch all the local activity and absorb the atmosphere from ...

... if I should have quizzed him further. There was so much I could have learnt from him, but he obviously had no great desire to relive his wartime ordeals. When I was younger, I had always taken it for granted that Dad had been "in the war", without understanding what it truly involved. He often spoke about the physical discomfort of living in the desert. He got terrible sores, which only Dettol ointment solved. But he never spoke about the fighting and the fear. As a boy, I had ...

Day 4 - Lago di Como

Good night's rest and off out up a mountain! We went to the deli across the road to pick up breakfast and lunch then to the funicular, the 'railway' up the mountain to the town of Brunate, overlooking the lake. Within a few minutes a mere 5 euros return ticket we were a good three quarters up the .... M mountain. From here it was a 40 minute what felt like vertical walk to a lighthouse. ...
