... over our bad french accents just the way we had done in Paris. I was purely happy.
Finally it was time to pack up and head home, which I might add, we are getting down to a fine art.
I realised this weekend that a holiday is not about what you do or how long you go for - it is about appreciating where you are and who you're with.
We went away for a night and came back with memories for a lifetime.
Love you babe x
Hallo miteinander!
... to live. The early autumn sun was invigorating. At first I was worried that 21oC was the wrong side of pleasant, but it was hot. The first time I'd worn shorts and sandals in months. Fantastic.
Coolum Beach was quiet and not as built up as I thought. The beach is expansive and the locals look like they're on a permanent holiday. It's the sort of place where you feel OK wearing bathers in the supermarket.
... it and we would be without a vehicle for one week. Ouch, that one hurt. Next call was the computer shop, they were able to save all the data including our photos and fixed the laptop. I was so relieved, it was the best news. The very first thing I did was back up the hard-drive. It was a lesson learned for me.
We made plans to rent another vehicle while ours was in the shop. As we had already started the strawberry picking, we needed a campervan as we ...
... Parksville and then west to Tofino. Incidental birding stops will be made along the way. Afternoon birding will depend on arrival time in Tofino. Spend night in Tofino. May 24 - Boat trip with Justbirding and Tofino area birding This morning we board a boat and spend a couple of hours on the water. While this is not a true pelagic trip, we can hope for some good birds, including Pelagic and Double-crested Cormorants, Common Murre ...
Mapleton, Queensland, Australia kcros32Since we had the car we decided to go to the beaches on the Sunshine Coast because they have been our favourite so far, and we love Noosa. We would live there if we could find jobs - but since its been hard in Brisbane I think it could be quite difficult !! Its only a small place but perfect, and the beaches are amazing. We went and bought a tent on the way ! Just a little one, a 4 man not 2 man, and thank god we went for the ...
Coolum Beach, Queensland, Australia christinauk... hosts to some really sweet rats. The story behind the poor rats was that one of the kids was a complete snake freak and had caught a python and put it in a cage round the back of the house. Now, they had then, completely illegally I believe, bought these sweet little rats to feed to the python. They had then put said rats in the cage with the python and watched as the poor rats were driven to distraction by the massive snake and the snake just ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia bernadine... largest stand of ancient bunya pines in the world (similar to our exotic Norfolk Pines). After farewells it was south to visit the 28 000 ha Main Range NP, a spectacular arc of ridges, peaks and escarpments, (remnant volcanic plugs) running across the Queensland border into NSW. Following this we walked in the relatively recently proclaimed 12 000 ha Girraween NP, an entirely different landscape of massive granite outcrops, rising above eucalypt ...
Noosa, Queensland, Australia lynskys... in the 90s. Unlike it's namesake it has blue skies, golden sands and awesome surf. We spent a few days enjoying it all, in fact I reckon I could pass for one of those surfer dudes........the only things I don't have are........the bleached blond hair, muscular torso and oh yeah a surfboard. Apart from that I'm there;-) The excitement is reaching fever pitch now as we head to our favourite city and location of our wedding back in 2000, SYDNEY.
Lara, watch it! Wat doen we als guana's ons aanvallen?? We hadden geen idee en van bovenop de picknicktafel ...
