back to home back in Elmira. Stopped to eat at Ponderosa though, a

... miles and 40 hours (I blame the extended time on the US border officials lack of skill to pack a Jeep properly). It's been great to be back in NY. I haven't really slowed down. I've been out on the town with a great blast from the past (it's good to know true friends will be your friends no matter how long the time passes), I've been in a wedding...I've travelled another 3 hours to see my ...
Binghamton, New York, United States rachelm1075Iwould talk about yesterday and today, but frankly there is nothing much to say, we walkedaround central park, and then got a flight home!
Oh and there was something i forgot to mention in a previous blog. We visited the Dakota Building and then the strawberry fields opposite, made famous by The Beatles star John Lennon. It is a must see, even if you are not a Lennon fan.
... Next was the Empire State building, it only cost $18 as Iwas a student, but frankly it really wasn't worth it. We cued for over 2 hoursand to get to the top and see bad views. The views from the Top of the Rock atthe Rockefeller Centre were must more stunning and there weren't any big barsin the way either. So all in all this was very disappointing.
Moving on, we went to the Metropolitan ...
... sowe went to Time Square and looked at what deals we could get for a Broadwayshow. There is a ticket office in the middle of the square which sell cheaptickets for the shows, but if you go to the tourist information office first, they sometimes have deals on tickets. This is what we did and got very goodseats to see Chicago. I thoroughly recommend seeing a show, there is somethingspecial about seeing a show on Broadway, do it!
... stating the obvious, but there are Chinese peopleeverywhere, it's almost like you cross a line and you are in China. There arequaint little shops with lots of dragons and swords in them, but if you wonderfurther down the street, you find yourself in Little Italy, which is slowlybeing consumed by China Town. Yes,Little Italy definitely lives up to the stereotypes we see on television. Wehad an early dinner here in a lovely authentic Italian restaurant and thenheaded home.
... this museum. As wewere coming to the end the day we went back to the hostel and go ready for ournight out. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe for my birthday, and we certainly werenot disappointed, the service was good and the prices were nowhere near as badas I thought they were going to be. All in all a very cool and pleasant placeto eat. We had an Elton John outfit above our table, a signed drum kit next tous, a truly awesome place to go for any music lover out there.
... ferris wheel in the middle of toys 'r' us, in times square, in New York. I thought that life couldn't get any weirder, that was, of course, we found possibly the best shop known or our case unknown to man the m&m shop, yes a whole three floors dedicated to the small chocolate, shell covered sweets we all crave. It is covered wall to wall with any form of tacky m&m merchandise you can think of, but you know what, it may be touristy, but it's great! If m& ...
New York, United States v_howeWell after preparing luggage, the car and me (this a story for another time) we started on the road around 12h today. It's been 2 years plus I have driven long distance. Temperature is fine. Getting warmer (slowly). No more snow. A lot of brown grass. Some deers, some mufflers, some car parts (so romantic) on the side of the road but it will get better and be on the green side tomorrow. The rest areas ...
New Milford, Pennsylvania, United States michelbouchard... sigh... Back in Columbia I baked and surfed the internet pretty much all day looking for jobs. Davy from Found Magazine came by Ragtag one evening. I saw found his website by accident a year ago and was tickled that someone else was so into stuff found on the street that he started a webpage. Little did I know there was also a magazine and a book! Foundmagazine.com. There was a big Deerhoof show in the basement and I made many trips to the healthfood store to get these great vegan ...
