... people are very friendly and optimistic and living in the present. There is sense that things are getting a little bit better. It certainly makes us feel very fortunate to live in Canada as we heard similar stories while we were in Spain.

Après trois jours au mouillage près de Culatra, nous avons décidé de mettre Kivu sur le sable. Nous avons donc bougé de 500 mètres et sommes dans une petite baie pour nous tous seuls. Un couple d'ici appelle cet endroit "hurricane hole" ce qui veut dire que cet endroit est tellement protégé qu'on y est protégé même dans un ouragan. Nous sommes donc en pleine nature avec seulement des cigognes et des hérons ...

We got packed up early this morning and ready to meet Terry (from our intrepid group) to go out to Belem together for the morning. We took a taxi out and arrived there just before 10am, perfect timing as it turned out the sights opened at 10 so we beat a lot of the crowds.
