The ruins here are much more extensive and were actually finished. This means there is a lot more carving to see in the main church, including the pulpit and font. In addition there is a small museum of carved pieces, none actually complete but i reasonable condition. Managed to get into town again and found an insurance place. We were told that we could get a green card for the vehicle and given a price. We agreed to this and then went to a bank to get the money since they wanted cash. On return they then told us that we could not get the insurance and so now we are stuck on the border with lots of Paraguay money that we must change once we cross the border. Another night of rain, although not so heavy today. Our first item today was to go to the park entrance where they have a historic site. This consisted of the remains of the first iron foundry in Latin America, it was built by the Paraguay government and used a prison workforce to operate it.
