    ... was terrible, but when the vendor provided a sample to one of our fellow travelers, he reported that it was not bad. Rafael bought a bottle and promised that we would all get a sample, not exactly a tasting to which we are looking forward. The wine is an ancient alcoholic drink first prepared by the indigenous Costa Rican peoples; it is still very popular in some regions of Costa Rica.

    ... not so drastic, the spanish is clear and easy to understand, the wildlife is phenomenal, the food is good and easy for kids to like, the fish is DELICIOUS, the tourist industry is well developed so there are all types of places to stay, before mid-December it's easy to find discounted lodging, it's a peaceful place,it;s full of dogs, travelling feels safe, the colors are incredible, the variety of bioregions ...

    ... st 2 casualties back to fieldbase: Ly Anh back with us (medic) as she has sprained her ankle and Tom who myself, Dave & Krisztina went to collect from one of the trek groups with a bad knee and sunburn blisters!
