... hadn't had much to drink during the day, it resulted in hangovers for us both. Not great considering we would be crossing a formal border to Hong Kong later in the day. We met up with Mark (a mate from the Beijing training camp) and together we joined the masses pushing their way towards the checkpoint. Within a couple of hours we had passed through both Chinese and Hong Kong customs and we were away.

Hong Kong awaits ...

... road to catch the star ferry to Hong Kong Central and then on to the bus terminal at exchange square where we ended up getting a cab after we were told by a lady she wouldn't get on a bus they drive like lunatics. After a wander around and a couple beers a feed we headed home . Stanly holds the Guinness world record for the most dogs (354) in an obedience school learning 2 commands there's one for Keith to work on Thursday was a pretty quiet day until about 5 when we went back over ...

... but three lifeguards protecting our kids as they swam alone (which I am sure they were thrilled about). The hotel also had a cool little maze for the kids to explore.

We just arrived home after 24 hours of traveling. Beckett was a little cranky during the long flight but we all were going a little crazy after 14 hours on the plane. He became a citizen in Chicago to little fanfare. We all arrived home safe and sound ...

Now this next bit of news might cheer you up, getting off the tube back in downtown Kowloon it was raining! Fortunately we had anticipated such an event and bought umbrellas hurrah :). Unfortunately they were tucked up back in the hotel nice and dry - boo! However as fortune would have it the tube station is right outside our favourite Vietnamese ...

Typhoon season

... with heather and we had bubba gump for dinner which was sooo yummy! There were meant to be fireworks for 1st July holiday (handover day) but because the typhoon warning went up to number 3 they were cancelled - even so the view at night was amazing. Glad I've seen both now. Back to work tomorrow - was beginning to feel like too much of a holiday but had a great bank holiday weekend :)
